Proudly supporting the Balmain Regatta

You don’t have to be a sailing enthusiast to appreciate the excitement and spectacle of the Balmain Regatta, which is hosted by the Balmain Sailing Club and heralds the start of the summer sailing season. CH has been a proud major supporter of the event for many years now, helping to continue its legacy as a significant community occasion.

Australia’s oldest sailing event, the regatta has a proud history dating back to 1849 and is a celebration of Balmain’s place in the rich maritime history of Sydney Harbour. Competitors race in fleets made up of historical sailing skiffs, classic yachts, cruising yachts, modern racing yachts and sports boats in a friendly yet competitive display of sailing prowess.

You don’t need to be tackling the day from the sea either with great land events to enjoy the spectacle. At the foot steps of the Balmain sailing club there will be food, refreshments live music and plenty of other activities to make it a fun day event for the whole family.

This year’s regatta will be held on Sunday 30th of October, so why not pop down to be a part of a longstanding tradition and appreciate residing one of Australia’s most magnificent peninsulas.
