Proudly supporting Balmain Junior Rugby Club

We’re excited to share that Balmain Junior Rugby had a stellar 2022 season, with its 270 junior members wearing the traditional black and gold strip of Balmain with pride and passion.

BJRC had three teams in the finals this year, with two teams winning their matches. The U14s won the grand final of the D Division of the Sydney Junior Rugby Union (SJRU) competition, the U12 team won the plate final of the E Division in the competition and the U10 team narrowly lost in the plate final of the C Division.

We’re so proud of all the kids, parents and importantly all the volunteers who put their heart and soul into coaching, team management and running such a great club. It was another wet season with plenty disruptions and schedule adjustments, but the local spirit shone brightly to keep delivering for the club.

CobdenHayson has been a foundation sponsor of the club since it’s inception in 2011 when the club started with some crazy parents who despite a busy life schedule decided starting a junior rugby club on the peninsula was well overdue. With a small group of kids, the club quickly forged a reputation of fun, passion, a love of rugby and mateship.

With the 2022 season now at an end, the club is holding an annual presentation day on Sunday 11 September at the home ground in Leichhardt. This is the final event of the season but already attention is turning to a big and better 2023 season.
