Cobden & Hayson Balmain is proud and excited to once again be a main sponsor of the Balmain Art and Craft Show, which is celebrating its 23rd year in 2018. It’s amazing community events like this, that make Balmain worth a visit this weekend.

CELEBRATING 23 YEARS OF THE BALMAIN ART & CRAFT SHOW

This banner event on the Balmain calendar has grown year on year and kicks off with the social highlight on Friday night 2nd of November at 7pm. Live the dream lifestyle and come and rub shoulders with the who’s who of Balmain, enjoy a few canapes, drinks, a silent auction and music to get you moving.
The Balmain Art & Craft Show represents everything that is amazing about peninsula living with a largely dedicated group of volunteers diligently working behind the scenes to deliver an outstanding 3 day event the entire family can enjoy. It is a much-loved free community event that is held this weekend on the 3rd and 4th of November in the heritage-listed sandstone church and school grounds of Fr John Therry Catholic Primary School, Eaton Street, Balmain (opposite Gladstone Park).

This year it will feature works from both established and emerging artists, with some of your favourite names from past shows joined by an outstanding array of new talent. It certainly promises to be an inspiring, fresh exhibition. Many of the artists have been taking the Sydney art world by storm, with solo and group exhibitions, competition entries and many prestigious art prizes. You can may even find yourself amongst the enjoyable rush to place a ‘red dot’ on your favourite artwork to take home, but be quick as some of the best go early.
On display the Gallery showcases a line-up of original contemporary artworks – paintings, sculpture, limited edition prints, photography and installations. Hundreds of carefully curated pieces will be available so you’re bound to find something you love, whether you’re a novice collector or a more experienced art buyer. You’d be surprised how many artworks we see in our open homes that have come form this event.

Should I bring the kids? The answer is YES! It truly is a great day out for the whole family, the show always encompasses attractions for the kids on the Saturday – and there’s so much on offer this year they won’t know where to begin! Activities include crazy hair, face painting, manicures, temporary tattoos and create-your-own showbag. Kids' little fingers will be busy and imaginations in overdrive with painting, sand art, sewing and more. As for amusements, the show has always something fun for all ages, with a giant slide, silent disco, jumping castles and dunk tank.

We couldn’t be happier supporting this longstanding Balmain event with such a rich history. Whether you’re just admiring the works, attending as a purchaser or just there to have a laugh with any locals there is always a happy buzzing mood at the Balmain Art & Craft Show, say Matt Hayson.
There are still a few tickets remaining which you can purchase here for $60.
