Every March, our neighbourhoods come alive with colour. And 2026 is no different.
CobdenHayson’s Art Month is back for its 17th year, and once again we’re inviting local children aged 12 and under to take part in one of our favourite community traditions: our annual colouring competition.
What began as a small local initiative has grown into something truly special. Over the years, thousands of kids across the Inner West and Lower North Shore have picked up pencils, crayons and markers, proudly dropping their artwork into our offices with big smiles (and often bigger stories about what they’ve drawn). For many families, Art Month has become a yearly ritual - a chance to slow down, get creative, and be part of something shared across the neighbourhood.
Last year’s competition was our biggest yet, with an incredible number of entries from schools, siblings, cousins, and friends. We saw kitchen tables turn into art studios, and our offices filled with colour for weeks. Even better, spotting last year’s winning designs on CobdenHayson ‘SOLD’ stickers around the area quickly became a local talking point - kids dragging parents down the street to say, “That one’s mine!”
This year, we’re excited to do it all again.
As always, winning designs won’t just be celebrated - they’ll be seen for the entire year ahead. Winners will have their artwork printed on our iconic round CobdenHayson ‘SOLD’ stickers and featured on signboards throughout the local area.
And of course, there are some fantastic prizes up for grabs too.
Competition dates
1 March to 31 March 2026
Age categories
- 6 years & under
- 7 – 9 years
- 10 – 12 years
Winners will be judged across all three age groups and announced in the second week of April.

Getting involved is easy:

Prizes
Each entrant will receive a small treat when their submission is dropped off at a CobdenHayson office.
Each age category will have one major winner, a second prize, a third prize, and runner-ups.

What happens to my design?
Winning artworks will be printed on CobdenHayson ‘SOLD’ stickers and placed on our signboards throughout the neighbourhood. Keep your eyes peeled from mid-May 2026 onwards - you might just spot your design out and about after the winners are announced.
