Back in May, prior to yet another COVID lockdown, Matt Hayson and Rita Lopresti sold ‘Coronel’ at 12 Barr Street, Balmain, a fine example of High Victorian architecture with manor-like proportions, beautiful craftsmanship and tastefully curated interiors. Matt comments, “We had been helping these vendors over the years with their search for a property and after they bought from us they engaged us for this sale. To get this grand home market-ready we organised painting, sanding of the floorboards and styling to ensure it was picture perfect.”

Strategies we employed in this campaign

Given that this was such a great family home on a generous block with DA approval for parking, we expected the demand to be high. The ultimate buyer actually came via our database during the VIP open and despite having this early interest we still suggested taking it to the full market to ensure we had the entire spectrum of buyers covered. We ended up selling the home prior to the scheduled auction after just 15 days on market for an impressive $4.87m.
