COBDEN & HAYSON'S SAVVY EXPANSION INTO NEW ESTABLISHED MARKETS.

As the leading agency on the Balmain peninsula, Cobden & Hayson has parlayed its success into the Annandale, Drummoyne and Marrickville markets over the last decade. After continued growth in 2019, we recently made a number of strategic moves in order to better service both new and existing markets.

Cobden & Hayson have now acquired the Stone Real Estate Lane Cove business and opened an office in the heart of Lane Cove plaza. This was a highly tactical move given that most out-of-area searches for Lane Cove properties come from the Inner West, where C&H has the advantage of more than 20 years of experience and strong relationships. This takes the total to five independent offices working collaboratively to service the Inner West and now beyond, with the advantage of a single shared database of buyers and tenants.

“There is a logical synergy between our network and the Lane Cove market,” says director Peter Gordon. “The Inner West, and particularly the Balmain area, has always attracted buyers from the Lower North Shore who are drawn to the character homes, village feel and proximity to the CBD. Since moving to the Lane Cove area from the Inner West a decade ago, I’ve helped countless Inner West clients looking to purchase larger family homes on the Lower North Shore. We will provide sellers with the ability to reach beyond the local market and achieve premium outcomes through greater buyer awareness and stronger relationships.”

We are pleased to welcome industry veteran Greg Woo and his outstanding team into our management team.” 

Additionally, an amalgamation with Richardson & Wrench Leichhardt under the C&H Annandale banner saw us join forces to give C&H greater representation in the Leichhardt area. The Sulfaro family ran the successful R&W business for more than 30 years, building a strong reputation based on old school values, hard work and dedication to their craft. C&H is thrilled that the younger generation of Santos and Frank Sulfaro have joined the team, primarily with a sales focus while maintaining a vision for their well-established rent roll. We also welcome six additional staff who have come across to maintain this substantial rental portfolio.

Lastly, we welcomed the property management team at McCarthy Estate Agents to our family. “C&H Balmain acquired the property management arm of this respected Rozelle-based agency due to its proud heritage of strong results, with our two companies sharing similar values and aligning towards a common goal,” says Matt Hayson.

Adding significantly to the growth of our PM department, these two mergers mean that C&H is now one of the largest property management agencies in the Inner West and we can continue to improve our service offering to investors.
