As part of our commitment to continually investing in our community and supporting local residents and businesses, C&H is proudly sponsoring the wonderful cultural experience that is HarbourSculpture. The free event began in 2014 on the shores of Woolwich and is returning after a three-year hiatus to a new location indoors at the Balmain Rowing Club.

Over 10 days more than 30 established and emerging artists will showcase diverse sculptural works that reflect a sense of heritage and place in Australia. It’s a wonderful opportunity to both engage the community and support artists in the visual experience of sculptural works and sculptural space against the history of a recreational and working waterfront. This exhibition will focus on smaller works suitable for the indoor space.

If ever there was a time to support artists it’s now and this event is the perfect way to reconnect with the arts and culture – an arena hugely impacted by COVID.

C&H Director Danny Cobden comments, “At Cobden & Hayson we believe a strong, supportive community is our greatest asset. That’s why over the past 25 years we’ve supported more local businesses, sporting teams, schools and community events than any other agency. Balmain has always had a heritage of attracting artists and creatives and HarbourSculpture fits perfectly with our ongoing community focus. No matter what lies ahead, C&H will always prioritise local initiatives because we love where we live and we’re always eager to help.”

Submissions will be selected and judged by a special judging committee including acclaimed Australian sculptor Michael Snape. Artists will be eligible for two prizes – the HarbourSculpture First Prize of $5,000 and the Cobden & Hayson People’s Choice Award of $2,500.

With the support of the Balmain Rowing Club and the HarbourSculpture volunteers, HarbourSculpture will run from Friday, 20 November to Sunday, 29 November. For more information visit
