WE DON’T TAKE OURSELVES TOO SERIOUSLY, BUT WE’RE DEFINITELY SERIOUS ABOUT SUPPORTING OUR COMMUNITY

At Cobden & Hayson, community is at the heart of everything we do. We’ve always been big believers in giving back to the people who make our neighbourhoods so amazing. Community is definitely a huge part of why people choose to live in the Inner West and that sense of neighbourliness and support is something we work really hard to foster.

We’re always looking for ways to improve the wellbeing and happiness of locals and at the same time we’re focused on building a better working environment for our valued team. So this year, as part of Cobden & Hayson’s Employee Wellness Initiative, we’re getting involved in the City2Surf. We’ll be raising funds for Balmain PCYC’s Fit For Work program which helps disengaged high school kids by feeding them breakfast, training them via various courses, getting them in the gym, buying them work clothes and mentoring them into a job and beyond.

Check out our latest campaign below – warning,  the people depicted in this article are definitely not athletes. We can’t stress enough how ordinary, unfit and untrained we are. No hamstrings were pulled during production.

In addition to getting behind this extremely worthy cause, our participation in the City2Surf is also a great team building exercise, promoting collaboration, working towards a common goal and, of course, helping to support healthy behaviour and maintaining fitness. Ultimately, we want to improve the quality of our employees’ lives by promoting good physical and mental health, keeping them focused and assisting them in dealing with and withstanding stress.

We are heavily invested in the wellbeing of our community and its future. Being part of something greater than ourselves and our business is really important and it’s an honour to be able to provide resources and support to those locals who need it most.
