SPONSORING WONDERFUL LOCAL ART EVENT – HARBOURSCULPTURE

C&H Balmain is thrilled to be sponsoring innovative local art initiative, HarbourSculpture 2017.

Running since 2013, this free Australia Day Award-winning event will feature in excess of 110 sculptures by Australian artists, all set against a beautiful harbour backdrop.

Engaging both artists and the community, the event is the realisation of a vision by accomplished artist Linda Bell. Linda understood first hand the challenges Australian artists face in having their works publically exhibited. So, with plenty of blood, sweat and tears and the help of friends, she set about creating her own platform. Working closely with the council to secure the beautiful Clarkes Point Reserve site in Woolwich, her idea garnered the support and patronage of the Member for Lane Cove Anthony Roberts. She was fortunate to bring on AGL as major sponsor, with the company’s community values aligning well with the event.

With the help of more than 50 volunteers and a committee of more than a dozen who give up hours of their time, HarbourSculpture is now a much-loved event. All the pieces are available for sale too so it’s the perfect opportunity to pick up something truly unique.

HarbourSculpture will run over three weekends from Thursday 16 March to Sunday 2 April at Clarkes Point Reserve for the outdoor exhibits and the Hunters Hill Sailing Club for indoor exhibits. For more information visit harboursculpture.com.au
