ART MONTH IS BACK FOR 2020

  • March 2, 2020

Kicking off our annual ‘Art Month’ campaign is the return of our colouring competition giving children in our community a chance to exercise their creative flair and see the results plastered around our neighbourhoods! Following the enormous success of the initiative, Cobden & Hayson will be encouraging local kids to showcase their talents by designing the artwork for our SOLD & LEASED stickers. For the first time, we are also opening it up for kids to design our LEASED stickers given our growth in property management over the last 12 months. C&H now has one of the largest property management portfolios in the Inner West.

This will be the fifth year running that we’ve held the competition across our offices and we’re super excited to see what this year will bring!

This year winners will be given a large hamper of art supplies and a voucher to attend an art class in their community. You’ve no doubt seen last year’s winning entry enhancing our signboards. Emily, our (then) 9-year old winner of the 2019 campaign, created a bold cartoon-inspired entry that really livened up our streets and the whole community loved.

Samantha Elvy has seen the positive impact the initiative brings to our community as a whole. “Not only do children love seeing their work displayed on our signboards it encourages them to explore their creativity associated with their surroundings. We can’t wait to see what our highly imaginative local kids come up with and are hoping to get even more than last year’s 500 entries,” Samantha says. Director Danny Cobden agrees, saying “It’s great to see the enthusiasm of the kids in our neighbourhoods demonstrate their artistic skills and we love seeing our signboards adorned with sold stickers created by the local community. 2019 should be no different”.

Director Matthew Hayson said “with everything we do in the community, it is without question that local kids designing our sold stickers gets the most attention. I constantly have people in the area and across our industry commenting on how creative the stickers being produced by the budding local artists.”

The competition will run throughout March and children aged 12 and under are invited to enter and be in the running for one of the fantastic prizes within the three age categories. The Grand Prize winner will have their design showcased on a SOLD sticker on Cobden & Hayson signboards.
