Danny Cobden is a name familiar to most local residents and a name synonymous with the prestige Balmain property market having been the owner of the business for over twenty-five years.

During 2020 he was responsible for the two highest-priced sales in Balmain including setting a new record price smashing the previous record by some $4.5m and maintaining his reputation as the area’s premium property specialist.

He originally commenced his career in Sydney CBD commercial real estate advancing to a Director of Richard Ellis (now CBRE) positioned in both Jakarta and Hong Kong prior to purchasing an existing Balmain real estate franchise in the early 1990s and subsequently re-branding to CobdenHayson in 2005.

Over the years, he has nurtured the business elevating it to be positioned as the dominant agency in the area and its subsequent expansion throughout the Inner West. The development of the business has included the acquisition of numerous property management portfolios resulting in the company administering one of the largest rent roll portfolios in Sydney.

Together with Matt Hayson, Danny's role is all-encompassing; from maintaining the overall control and direction of the business while upholding an unsurpassed sales record.

He has for many years consistently sold more $4m + properties in the Balmain area than any other agent, including major waterfront homes, commercial/retail properties and development sites.

Over the years, other personal achievements and previous records have included:

- Record price for a home in Balmain – Circa $11m
- Multiple Waterfront sales over $10m
- Set new records in Balmain, Balmain East, Birchgrove and Rozelle
- Over 100 major waterfront transactions
