Lilyfield
Overview
Adjacent to Rozelle, Annandale and Leichhardt, Lilyfield offers a calm haven for young families and inner city dwellers with its tree lined streets and quaint parks. It is located approximately six kilometres from the Sydney CBD and is well serviced by RTA Buses and the newly opened Inner West Tram. Primarily residential, Lilyfield is made up of freestanding brick homes, traditional terraces and weatherboard cottages. Very much a local suburb, Lilyfield is full of in-the-know delights including a mix of restaurants, corner stores, cafes and pubs and it is situated just a few minutes away from the vibrancy of Leichhardt and charm of Balmain. The origin of the naming of Lilyfield is not really known. There is a suggestion that it was named after lily fields but this has not been verified.
